Acting Studies for Children and Teens

Each year, HMT offers acting classes for children and teens ages 5 to 17. Classes typically include: Play Acting for children ages 5 – 7, Creative Acting for children ages 8 - 11, and Scene Study/Audition Prep for children 12-17. Classes are held at the Spa Little Theater in the Saratoga Spa State Park.

Play Acting focuses on the exploration of the actors “tools” and how best to use those tools to act out characters from the children’s own experiences. Creative Acting encourages students to think on their feet while developing characters from their own imaginations. Scene Study/Audition Prep focuses on all aspects of the audition process and development of scene work for actors who have had some acting experience.

Acting class costs range from $60 - $75 for a four-week session with two sessions offered in the fall and winter.

Classes are limited to 12 students per class. Registrations will be accepted in the order in which they are received, and payment must be included for registration to be accepted.
