Acting Studies for Children and Teens

Each year, HMT offers acting classes for children and teens ages 6 to 17. Classes will include: Play Acting for children ages 6 & 7, Creative Acting, for children ages 8 - 11, Elements of Acting, for children ages 9 – 12, Scene Study, for children 12-17, and Acting for Teens, for students 13 - 17. Classes are held at the Spa Little Theater in the Saratoga Spa State Park.

Play Acting focuses on the exploration of the actors “tools” and how best to use those tools to act out characters from the children’s own experiences. Creative Acting encourages students to think on their feet while developing characters from their own imaginations. Elements of Acting teaches students to develop their own acting technique. Scene Study focuses on development of scene work for actors who have had some acting experience. Acting for Teens helps students find their personal acting technique and teaches them about character development.

Acting class costs range from $70 - $90 for a five-week session, and two sessions will be offered. Check back soon for the official dates and times.

Classes are limited to 12 students per class. Registrations will be accepted in the order in which they are received, and payment must be included for registration to be accepted.
